From Spring to Fall in New Abstract Painting

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

In this new abstract painting on paper, I continued to use an impressionistic style, painting with small brushstrokes.  I worked quickly, wet into wet, so the colors would blend together.  The combination of reds, orange, brown and sap green give it a feel of Fall.  Yellow provides contrast and highlights.

The basic background color is unbleached titanium, with parchment and other colors blended in. In the final step, I drew sketchy lines in raw umber, which suggest a kind of plant-like sturcture.
