DC Editor Adam writes…
You've got about a month left to catch the excellent You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966 - 1970 exhibition at the V&A. I'll be posting my last-chance-to-see review next week.
In the meantime, just one observation…
At the V&A you will see a record player identical to this one…
It's a Dansette Popular from around 1962. The one in the pic is my own (no pics allowed at the V&A show, I'm afraid) and it's still going strong. I still use it regularly.
NOTHING makes one feel quite so old as seeing one's own stuff in a museum.
If I may make a signage suggestion to the V&A… perhaps a notice, akin to the ones that make us aware of strobe lighting or adult content, worded along the lines of "Warning: Parts of This Exhibit Will Make You Feel Like A Right Old Fart".
Full info on You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966 - 1970 at the V&A (booking strongly recommended) can be found here: www.vam.ac.uk/exhibitions
