Friday is Rock'n'Roll London Day

By Lwblog @londonwalks

Today's Rock'n'Roll London walk at 2:00pm is dedicated to Gerry Goffin, born 11 February 1939, died 19 June 2014.

Goffin penned the lyrics to more than 50 U.S Top 40 songs, many of them in partnership with Carole King. Those hits include Pleasant Valley Sunday for the Monkees; Crying in the Rain by the Everly Brothers; Some Kind of Wonderful by the Drifters; Take Good Care of My Baby for Bobby Vee and The Locomotion for Little Eva. The Beatles recorded the Goffin/King number Chains on their debut album in 1963.
