Friday Flowers

The garden is certainly taking on its summer mantle of colours. As we are nearing the end of the month and the End of Month View blog post for June, today I am just going to share a few of the very pretty flowers in the garden.

Triteleia Laxa : this is a summer flowering bulb. I forget that I have this in a large pot on the patio and am always surprised, not to mention delighted, when the bright blue flowers shout “hello, we are here again!”.

Astrantia ‘Buckland’ : I bought this plant several years ago from a private garden that had opened to the public on an Open Gardens weekend. It brings bank happy memories of a very hot day. I am assuming it is a Buckland but I am sure if I am wrong someone will correct me.

Penstemon ‘Garnet’: this has now survived two winters. I also had an ‘Apple Blossom’ but sadly it died last winter maybe it was too wet for it. Another plant that is slug proof.

Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ : I thought I had lost this but clearly I was wrong. It would seem this is the only salvia in my garden that the slugs and snails leave alone. It looks good with the Penstemon behind it.

Please come back very soon because next Monday will be the EOMV post and you will see the garden in its full glory! By that time the Agapanthus will be out properly as will the Passion Flowers. The roses are looking good too…here is a small taster.
