Winter White Cosmopolitan
Celebrate the end of hectic holidays, wintry nights and days, or take a chill with a Winter White Cosmo.
This cocktail has been available seasonally on Bonefish Grill’s specialty drink list for a few years now. It’s a variation of a traditional Cosmopolitan with a few twists, namely white cranberry juice and St. Germain, a liqueur with a floral flair. This drink truly suits the season, tasting like a crisp winter’s morn.
This is an approximation of the recipe based on the listed ingredients. It’s relatively easy to make.
What you’ll need: Vodka, Triple Sec, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, White Cranberry Juice, Lime Juice, and simple syrup.
In a shaker over cracked ice, pour in 1 1/2 ounces each white cranberry juice and your vodka of choice. Add in 1/2 ounce each of Cointreau (or triple sec), lime juice, and simple syrup (1 part sugar dissolved in 1 part water). Top it off with a tablespoon of St. Germain elderflower liqueur. Shake and then strain into a martini glass. Optionally, garnish with 3 or so frozen cranberries.
How I like it: You don’t want this one to turn out too sweet, and the above proportions yield a relatively balanced flavor. I add a shade more vodka for a crisper taste, but that’s personal preference. Surprisingly, the biggest challenge was finding white cranberry juice. The closest my local supermarket carried was a white cran-peach blend. In a pinch, this works, but the flavor isn’t perfect. Hunting down a true white cranberry juice is best.
