My mother and I were hangout partners.
My mother knew a lot of people and had a lot of friends/associates.
I had a select group that I would be around from time to time since I was particular with the company I kept.
In the same we enjoyed one another’s company and often spent a lot of time together going places and having a nice time. People loved being around us because we were good-natured, and we had a sense of humor among other traits that were appealing
Fresh Meadows, Queens was one of our main spots to eat out at and shop.
We would also go to the two movie theaters that were located around there quite often.
The boutiques and department store we used to love and frequent are no longer present though some of the restaurants in the area still are.
I remember how my mother and I would sit out on the benches under the trees not too far from one of the movie theaters while we talked and delighted in the atmosphere of the summer or spring weather.
The ambience back then was awesome!
