The Savile Row designer Richard James presented his collection for the spring-summer 2014 season and stood out from his fellow designers by using very narrow cuts and sunny colors.
Trying to escape the bad London weather, the British designer abstracted the concept of spring into a beautiful collection of clothes, proper for the man of the year 2014. We see a lot of pastels and bleached nuances, which seem to have come out of an Easter card. They suggest a very relaxed attitude, acceptance and renewal, and look the future right in the eye.
The soft fabrics and the fine cuts invite you to a seemingly endless summer party, trying to redefine the concept of manliness. The clothes express a re-appropriated concept of “spring break”. It’s spring break for elegant men.
The beautiful designs are matched with a collection of “pop-of-color” shoes in stronger nuances of the colors used for the clothes: blues, pink, white, etc.
Richard James imagines an idealized spring and shares his vision with the world and anyone willing to take and be a little part of it!
