Planning Your First COVID-19 Thanksgiving

Crystal Clarity Face Mask

To help people deal with these COVID-era holidays, the Centers for Disease Control has ranked activities by risk:
Low-risk options:
Dining only with people living in your home.
Virtual meal for extended family and friends.
Traditional dishes delivered safely to family and neighbors.
Shop Black Friday sales online instead of at the mall.
Watching football games and parades at home.
Moderate risk activities:
Only invite a few people who live outside of your home. Celebrate outdoors like a cookout. Have one designated person serve the food to people's plates, to avoid multiple hands in serving bowls. Remind them to wash their hands often!
Going to sports events, even with safety precautions in place.
High-risk activities:
Crowded stores. Crowded airports or roadside rest stops.
Crowded sporting event or parades.
Large indoor gatherings with people from outside your household.

Attending a Gathering

Eating /Drinking Face Mαšκ

Celebrating virtually or only with the people you live with is the safest choice this Thanksgiving.
If you do choose to attend a gathering, make your celebration safer. In addition to following the steps that everyone can take to make Thanksgiving safer, take these additional steps if attending a Thanksgiving gathering:
Bring your own food, drinks, plates, cups, and utensils.
Wear a mask and safely store your mask while eating and drinking.
Avoid going in and out of the areas where food is being prepared or handled, such as in the kitchen.
Use single-use options, like salad dressing and condiment packets, and disposable items like food containers, plates, and utensils.
