Wander west and discover
Due to overwhelming demand in July where nearly 400 families used the complimentary weekend service, organisers Visit West End have announced plans for another month of free weekend travel across the West End and an amazing village green on Vinicombe Street - an open air meeting space for all to enjoy complete with grass, picket fence, deck chairs, beach balls, giant board games and more to help Glasgow enjoy summer activities for less.
Feel the sand on your feet with giant deckchairs, beach sports and an opportunity to simply kick-back and relax at the complimentary Riverside beach. Buckets of fun it's located outside the Riverside Museum.
Organised by the Byres Road and Lanes Business Improvement District, the organisation behind Visit West End, the free shuttle and Village Green aims to bring a sense of wonder and brilliant free day outs for locals and visitors to the city.
David Howat, Chairman of the Byres Road and Lanes Business Improvement District, said:
"Days out don't have to break the bank. We wanted to operate our shuttle to help families and tourists explore the wonders of the West End at their leisure and for free. We hope it makes it easier to explore everything Glasgow has to offer. Make sure you hop on and off before the summer is out."
