Free Crochet Pattern: Stella Cowl Scarf

With summer coming to an end I decided it was time to start working on some new fall weather crochet patterns.  The Stella cowl is a light weight scarf that is perfect for those chilly fall days.  The pattern can be found below and is also available as a download by clicking on the "downloadable crochet patterns" tab or through Craftsy and Ravelry.
Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn
Size I Crochet Hook
Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(stitches)
Sl st = Slip Stitch
Sc = Single Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet
Dc2tog = Double Crochet Decrease
Cl = Cluster
Shell = shell stitch

Special Stitches:
Cluster - Yarn over insert hook in stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull hook through first 2 loops, yarn over insert hook in same stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through first 2 loops on hook, yarn over insert hook in same stitch, yarn over draw up a loop, yarn over draw hook through first two loops, yarn over and draw through the remaining loops on hook
Shell - Shell stitch is made by placing five double crochet stitches in the same stitch.

 Pattern Notes:  The beginning chain four in rows 2,3,5,6 counts as a single crochet and chain three.
Ch 136 and sl st to form a ring.  Be careful not to twist the chain when joining.
Round 1:  Ch 1, sc in next st and each st around.  Sl st to ch 1 to join the round.
Round 2:  Ch 4 *skip next 3 sts and cl in the following st.  Ch 3, skip the next three sts and sc in the following stitch.  Ch 3* repeat 15 times.  Ch 3, skip next three sts and cl in the following st.  Ch 3 sl st to the first ch stitch you made at the beginning of the round.
Round 3:  Ch 4, skip the chains from the previous round and sc in the first cl st from the previous round.  *Ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3 sc in next cl st.* repeat around.  Sl st to first ch st you made at the beginning of the round.
Round 4:  Ch 2, dc2tog in same stitch as joining, ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3, cl in next sc from previous round.  Sl st to top of the dc2tog to join the round.
Round 5:  Ch 4, sc in first sc from previous round, *ch 3 sc in next cl st, ch 3, sc in next sc* repeat around. sl st to the first ch stitch you made at the beginning of the round.

Round 6:  Ch 4, cl in next sc st, *ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3 cl in next sc*– repeat around.  Sl st to first ch stitch you made at the beginning of the round.
Round 7:  Repeat Round 3
Round 8:  Repeat Round 4
Round 9:  Repeat Round 5
Round 10:  Repeat Round 6
Round 11:  Repeat Round 3
Round 12:  Repeat Round 4
Round 13:  Ch 1, sc around placing three sc in each ch 3 space. Sl st to ch 1 to join the round.
Trim:
Top:  Ch 2, dc four times in the same stitch as ch 2, *skip the next st and sl st in following st, skip the next st and shell st in the following stitch* repeat around.  Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2.
Bottom:  Sl st to any sc st around the opposite edge of the scarf and ch 2, dc four more times in the same stitch as ch 2, *skip the next st and sl st in following st, skip the next st and shell st in the following stitch* repeat around.  Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2.
