Foxing have shared new single ‘Greyhound’ ahead of the release of their upcoming fifth album, ‘Foxing’ (released on the band’s own Grand Paradise label on 13 September).
The eight-minute epic opens with atmospheric and synth-led sound as Conor Murphy talks about how beautiful his telephone can be (‘Look at how it loves me’). As the clattering drums and squealing guitar riffs come in around the 2-and-a-half minute mark, attention turns to powerful dreams and missed chances, the words ‘it meant nothing to me’ being soundtracked by a crescendo of mathy noise.
This is followed by a faltering breakdown that veers into spacey prog-rock territory before heading back to where it came from with words about ‘every spirit, every vital sign’ and a warning ‘we will get fooled again’…
