Food Tour Part 13: Above Budget

By Chaayen
Sorry, for the lack of yummy food posts, I think I was just too busy with other things in life. Not to leave a wrong impression, I don't usually spurge that much, this is just an accumulation of cafe-like food that I am having in life...hehe. Some are unfortunately not much of a hit....so bleh

1. The Lokal

Like all cafes in Singapore, the price ain't exactly friendly. But at least the food was good. Remember to make reservations cos there is usually a queue. You probably be seeing me much here (because I really don't believe in spending that much to enjoy food) unless my friends jio me to chill.
From top left to bottom right,
  1. Boneless Pork Chop (S$30): This is the top favorite at the The Lokal and I think I know why. The pork chop is really good, but the thing is even the pork chop at cai fan store bring me a lot of joy...
  2. Pork Knuckle Croquette: Sorry I think this is no longer on its menu, but I can assure you this sure is yummy, but the price is of course sky-high :P
  3. Slipper Lobster Linguine (S$26): This is truly not my thing. Not really worth the hole in the pocket.
  4. Chai Latte (S$6.50): Don't think you really can go wrong with this...

2. Twins
Had this with my friends the other day. We wanted to go to another Korean restaurant, but the queue was way too long. So we settled for this instead. If you are looking for some delicious fried chicken, I think Twins serve quite decent chicken. Their mains on the other hand, is passable but not ravingly good.
It is my second time here, but I don't particularly have much cravings for their food. Oops...hehe...would only recommend this if you are hungry and in a hurry. Price-point, it is average :D

3. Relish
Went there for a colleague's farewell at this isolated gem and wow can't help but think this place serve pretty decent fusion food. The price is kinda of steep but the ambience is good. Will probably go there for dinner next time, cos lunch-time is kinda of rush, can't really enjoy life properly.
From left to right, top to bottom
  1. Laksa Pesto Linguine ($17.80)- For me, this is fusion done well. One of my favourites, I will definitely come here again for this! Yums!
  2. Sliced Fish Beehoon ($17++) - It is a good fish soup. But the price, waseh, a little bit of a heartache.
  3. Unami Fries (($9++) - We picked this cos it had the most garnish among the other sharing food. Would definitely recommend this, pretty addictive. I think I finished a good half of it. Oops.
  4. Chendol Ice-cream ($5) - It was a seasonal special. It was quite good but honestly I didn't taste the ice-cream. Worth a try. :)
  5. Krapow Bee Tai Mak ($13.80)  - It is one of the recommendations, but somehow I don't find it very very special.
