Food-Randomness

Happy Friday!! As you may know I love food and lately I’ve been invited for birthday lunch and dinners. I snap photos, but I can’t overwhelm you guys with food reviews, so I decided to show you the photos of a few places I have recently visited.

My family and I enjoy eating at Creama Cafe in Seal Beach. It is a European-inspired restaurant. Mostly, every birthday celebration starts off with breakfast at this cozy spot.

I discovered La Parilla about two Sunday’s ago and have been there twice already. The first time I felt so welcomed and had a tour of the restaurant, which Charlie Chaplin once called home. Although, the food isn’t the best authentic Mexican food, I do enjoy the atmosphere.

There are beautiful art pieces, Chaplin’s uniform, and wonderful stories of the home. They say that his spirit remains there and he has scared woman. If you ever visit, make sure to ask the manager for a tour. It is a wonderful experience. There is also a man who refers to himself as “Elvis” and sings songs. He sang Happy Birthday to me and I got a delicious flan! Their mango margarita is yummy too!

Perch is a French inspired rooftop bistro that offers astonishing views of Downtown Los Angeles that makes it feel as though you are floating at the skyline. It has breathtaking views and they had a live group playing jazz music.

Now, the sparks do not end there. The food is delicious. I had french toast with fresh berries on top and my friends ordered the eggs benedict and perch burger. We did not have one thing to complain about. The service and ambiance were perfect.

There has been so much hype about Korean BBQ that I finally gave it a try and realized it’s not my thing. I think I rather have my dish served and ready to be eaten. It could also be that I am not a big meat-eater and I get full pretty fast, so I don’t think I am the best candidate for this type of restaurant. Although, the restaurant, OO-KOOK Korean BBQ, was clean, service was wonderful and the food was delicious… I just don’t picture myself doing it again.

Lastly, Colonia Taco Lounge, is a recommendation my friend came across from Jonathan Gold’s List. Jonathan Gold is a food critic who writes for the Los Angeles Times and has previously written for LA Weekly and Gourmet. In 2007 he became the first food critic to win the Pulitzer Prize. I ordered the shrimp and duck taco which were highly pleasant. I preferred the shrimp over the duck. The duck seemed like pork.

What’s girl time without margaritas ;)

If you are near any of these locations, and happen to visit them…share your experience! Have a great weekend!
