I don't often like to wake up and devour a meal straight away, so brunch seems like the perfect time of day to eat for me. That and the fact that it consists of some of my most favorite foods. Arriving into a different city at 11am means one thing and one thing only, B-to-the-Runch! Le Chalet is a quaint tearoom that embodies the luxurious French lifestyle and is located just outside of the hustle and bustle of the main shopping district of Leeds and boy, is it a little dosage of French heaven. Situated on the corner of a rather grand building is a little place to go with a loved one, to kick back, relax and eat delicious food.
The first thing myself and Carli commented on was how lovely the staff were, those guys were the friendliest, attentive set of ladies I have come across in hospitality in a while. After pondering the super gorgeous menu, we asked if it was too early for a morning cocktail and of course, it wasn't! I opted for a French Martini (when in France... kinda), whilst Carli opted for a Mimosa - champagne at 11am, yes, please! They arrived all bright and beautiful which totally set the tone for the day. We definitely had decided on some refreshing beauties to wake us up to be ready for our long day!
There's always one thing I crave when I'm not quite ready to devour a Full English, and that's some wonderfully baked French Toast. I have such a nostalgia of what I like to call 'eggy bread' from my Grandma who still to this day will cook it for me and cut it up into little pieces. Yet when I eat it out, I swap my ketchup for a side of bacon and syrup and oh my, is it delicious. Le Chalet make their toast with a handful of cinnamon, which you can certainly taste, yet dowsed in lashings of syrup the taste can be somewhat masked if it's not preferred! The bread is thick yet light and fluffy as to not be so heavy and is the perfect way to start a weekend of fun! The portion you get is definitely generous, so you won't be needing to fuel yourself up till evening time!
If you're ever in the Leeds area and after a spot of brunch or lunch if that, note down Le Chalet as one of your places to go - you won't be disappointed!
