The diminutive Gnat started as a private venture for a lightweight jet fighter that became well known as the aircraft of the RAF’s Red Arrows aerobatic team.  This aircraft first flew in April of 1963 and served with the Red Arrows from 1972 thru 1979.  In 1959 Folland was acquired by Hawker Siddeley who dropped the Folland name in 1963.  Nikon D300 w/18-200mm, processing with Aperture.
