Miami authorities have indicated that they have closed parks, beaches and marinas. The mayor of Miami, Carlos Giménez said on Friday that around twenty evacuation centers should be able to accommodate people, in compliance with health measures in the face of COVID – 19. The state's COVID testing clinics – 19 have been closed in places where the hurricane could strike.
“We don't think we will need these shelters during the storm, but they are ready,” said the mayor.

Residents of Palmetto Bay, near Miami, have been urged to obtain sandbags to protect their homes.
Mr. Giménez urged citizens to stock up on water, food and medicine for seven days.
In the state of North Carolina, authorities have ordered the evacuation of Ocracoke Island, which was hit hard last year by Hurricane Dorian .
In the Bahamas, the authorities had ordered the evacuation of Abaco Island, where the population still lived in temporary shelters since the passage of hurricane Dorian the last year. Residents who live in the far eastern tip of Grand Bahama Island were also evacuated.
Hurricane Isaias had sustained winds of 52 km / h Saturday morning, but it could gain further momentum according to forecasts from Miami's national hurricane center, the US National Hurricane Center.
The hurricane warning issued was in effect for residents of the east coast of Florida, from Boca Raton, near Fort Lauderdale, through Hollywood, to north Miami.
