I was very lucky to be at FKA twigs’ first performance of a three-night stint entitled “Congregata” at The Brooklyn Hangar on Sunday. The show was part of the Red Bull Music Academy Festival and was truly a glimpse into the mind of a brilliant artist. The set was minimal, leaving more room for the incredible performers that graced the stage. Twigs was magnificent, bringing her charisma and sensuality to an almost tangible form. She was joined by equally enamoring performers who kept the crowd entranced throughout the entire show. It’s easy to see that FKA twigs is an incredibly dedicated performer who pours her entire self into her work. She took some time at the end to thank every single dancer as well as the audience and stress the authenticity of the craft. This was surely a life-changing show for everyone involved.
