Dead husband had revealed place to dig in a dream

The Kahathuduwa Police said that four women and a man were arrested while digging for treasure in front of a house surrounded by a wall in the Meddahena Watta area of Kiriwatthuduwa, while following instructions being given over the phone after consulting a lamp (anduna).
A pump used for spraying water, a stock of plastic pipes, offerings and flower lamps, basins and buckets have been taken into police custody, along with the suspects.
Police said that among the suspects are a 76-year-old woman who owns the house and a 20-year- old girl and that among them was a woman known as Maeni.
It has been revealed during police investigations that the dead husband of the 76-year-old suspect woman who owns the house had come to her in a dream and said that there was a treasure in the well in front of the house and then they had gone to a ‘maeniyo’ (mother) in Panagoda area of Homagama to arrange to retrieve it.
The main suspect has given statements to the police that following instructions given a few days ago by this woman who is called ‘maeni’ that a majority of women will be able to recover this treasure, they had arranged to dig for the treasure on the afternoon of May 3.
Police investigations also revealed that the woman who claimed to have given instructions had been guiding them over the phone from Panagoda in Homagama, subsequent to consulting a lamp.
The suspects will be produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court. Crimes Division, SI Udayakumara, Sergeant 41445 Lalith, Constable 84555 Nishan, 8436 Priyankara are conducting investigations on the instructions of Kahathuduwa OIC, CI A.H.S. Priyankara.
