Tom Cruise seemed to have fixed a lot of his problems with the success of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. It seems as though he’s getting movie projects left and right. Included here is the first trailer for his new film, Oblivion. The film takes place in the future where a vicious Alien war has left the planet in shambles. Jack Harper (Cruise), as one of the last humans stationed on Earth, finds himself in a dangerous situation and puts the fate of humanity in his hands. The supporting cast includes Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough and Melissa Leo. The director of the project, Joseph Kosinski, last worked on TRON: Legacy and his aesthetic continues here. While the plot and setup of Oblivion fails to excite, the technology and the soundtrack done by M83 are exciting enough to have me interested.
Oblivion is set for an US release of April 12th 2013.
