First Ever Fashion Show Experience

By Clo Hutch @lashesoflife

A while ago now I went to my first ever fashion show…and it was incredible.

The show/catwalk was for the final year graduates of the London College of Fashion to showcase their final works.

There were some amazing and extremely creative pieces – women wearing sponges as shoes tied on with red material, some great embroidery and lots of “out there” designs.

I really enjoyed it. I’m a lover of art and I think fashion design nowadays is art – I’m not sure I can imagine someone wearing sponges to the supermarket or out for lunch – but that’s what makes it even more exciting and intriguing. You can’t wait to see what’s next.

It really inspired me to get back to drawing too – I recently routed out my sketchbook so keep an eye out for some new pieces if you like art too.

I did have so much fun however, if I get to go to another (which I hope I do!) I definitely need a better camera to catch the models at the right time and not get affected by the light as much. But here’s some of the best bits (as snapped by me):
