Fireworks @ Tamworth Castle

By Thefoodiecoupleblog

Due to my husbands work schedule, we’ve not been to a Bonfire night fireworks display together for ages! The last one I remember clearly was my last year of university in Sheffield when we went to the huge display they had every year at the Don Valley Stadium which was always pretty good. Digging back further into my memory was a display when I was probably about 6 or 7 at the Belfry golf club. I twas here I won myself my very first pet –  a lovely goldfish called George. Unfortunately he only lasted about 3 days – I’ve always blamed my mom for this – she put dirty gravel in his tank, but in retrospect the real lesson is probably that goldfish won at fairs are probably not the healthiest in the world to start with! Anyway, this year, we managed to get down to our local Fireworks display in Tamworth – put on by the council in the ground of Tamworth Castle and it even had free entry.

There was your typical little funfair, food stalls and vendors selling all sorts of flashing neon things from lightsabers to mohican headbands! We ate a couple of average hot dogs and some rather better donuts and listened to Touch Fm belt out the hits until the fireworks kicked off, a rather impressive 20 minute display, set to music. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and pretty sure we will make it an annual event! Here’s some of the pics from the night – trying to get a handle on my cameras settings, but some of them came out pretty well!
