A current trend in the music industry is to collaborate in order to get your name heard. With the likes of Disclosure, Rudimental, and Naughty Boy doing this for names such as Ella Eyre, Sam Smith, and London Grammar this year ... it's no shock that we're already gearing up for the upcoming names of next year, in the late released collaborations of this one. Two names that we'll be sure to keep an eye on next year will be Bondax, and Josh Record, both of which have come together to offer their exquisite new single, Fires.
With a pretty wonderful vocal, Josh Record has managed to get his name much closer to the top this year. He supported London Grammar when we saw them at Electric Brixton, London, and from then on we knew something pretty special was brewing. His use of harmonies and that echoed effect on his voice really add a lot of texture to everything he sings and, whilst this is quite obviously very different to the things he creates on his own, the sensual result is still very much there and this chilled out vibe is very much a joint project, where two collaborators have just, clicked.Bondax, whom you also may have heard of this year, really manage to soak up the winter chill with the backing to this one. Every pulse they throw at you washes all over your body and, the point of the song, we think, is really to showcase the best of both of their efforts - to great avail.Given that these names keep creeping up time and time again, we're sure it's only a matter of time until they hit the limelight, and what better way to propel themselves, than to join together to make something as quality as this. As we said, its seems that, now, there is a quick saturation on tracks where people work together ... but we think Bondax and Josh Record may have gotten in, just in time, so that their respective careers can definitely blossom throughout 2014.
