Located in coastal Lee County, Florida, the fire departments of the ETC have mutually agreed on one application and one testing process for the positions of firefighter, firefighter/emergency medical technician and firefighter/paramedic. By applying for a firefighter position through the ETC, you will gain access to job openings from 12 fire departments on Florida’s tropical west coast. The testing process consists of the following: submitting a completed application, completing a written general aptitude test and passing a physical ability test. The fire departments involved in this cooperative testing process include Bayshore Fire Rescue, Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District, City of Fort Myers Fire Department, Estero Fire Rescue, Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District, Iona McGregor Fire District, Lee County Port Authority Airport Fire Department, Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue District, North Fort Myers Fire Control District, San Carlos Park Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, Sanibel Fire & Rescue District, South Trail Fire District. Each of these agencies is growing, and we anticipate tremendous increases in the demand for personnel in the near future.
