This new abstract painting presents a problem with its rather dark background of dull turquoise. In today's painting session I attempted to "lighten it up" by adding more lines in white and parchment. I also added lines in a light emerald green and brilliant purple to help brighten the image.
To strengthen the composition, I added a lot more black, filling in areas that would act as "shadows" to the very light, bright sections. Then I let myself go, drawing circles and longer lines, just for interest. After it dries, I'll decide if it's finished or not.
