Many small to midsize business owners start off with a couple of clients and make the mistake of relying too much on only one or two sources of income. The problem with that kind of approach is that if circumstances change and a customer slows down the amount of work they are sending your way or completely stops doing business with you, you could be in a lot of trouble.
And when it comes to small to midsize agencies? This is often an even bigger problem. Many times, agencies are focused on client projects and get so engrossed with the work at hand that they forget to pay close attention to the fact that you need to always be marketing and always building your sources of leads and sales, which is really the only way to grow your client base
When it comes to capturing leads, it’s all about a cycle. Qualified leads usually turn into meetings, which in turn lead to potential sales, and increased sales generates more revenue and profit for your business. And it’s a constant cycle that needs to happen in order for your business to thrive.
If finding leads is a constant challenge for you, you should check out my friend Drew McClellan’s upcoming workshop called Fill Your New Business Pipeline, being held on Thursday November 6th at 12pm EST. Drew’s co-hosting this workshop with Stephen Woessner (founder of Predictive ROI).
Who’s Drew and why should you pay attention? First of all, if I say he’s awesome, I can promise you he is. Secondly, he’s a 25-year marketing veteran and agency owner focused on helping clients create authentic, long-lasting love affairs with their customers. He also helps other agency owners learn how to take their business to the next level. He’s got chops, holding a spot on AdAge’s Top 150 Index as one of the world’s top marketing and branding bloggers.
Interested in the workshop? I’m pretty sure it’ll be filled with actionable information that you can put to use immediately. Here are some of the things you can expect from the workshop:
- You’ll learn some simple lead generation strategies or “Recipes,” each with specific steps or “Ingredients” you and your new business team can put into practice immediately.
- Be prepared. This workshop isn’t designed to give you the warm fuzzies. It’s not a feel good session with a lot of talk about new business theories. The session will contain real, actionable strategies for agency owners and their new business teams.
- Even better? It’s free. The only thing the workshop will cost you is your time.
As the year draws to a close and we start looking toward 2015, there’s no better time to kick your new business prospecting and lead generation efforts into high gear. And this workshop? Well, it could be a game changer for you and your team.
