I'm still working with tall slim canvases, but the next four are 10" wide by 48" long instead of 8" wide. That gives me a little more room to play with in terms of composition, but not much. This new abstract painting took a while to come together. I used a palette knife for most of it, beginning with the white and parchment in the center, working outwards with yellow, orange and red.
Next I used a brush to fill in areas, especially around the outer edges. Finally, I drew lines with pale blue violet which helped it all to come together. The whole thing was done wet on wet, which can sometimes end up a muddy mess with acrylics.
