FIA Formally Arrested Musharraf in Benazir Bhutto Murder Case

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf in relation to the Benazir Bhutto murder case.

FIA Deputy Director Khalid Rasool, accompanied by inspector Malik Tariq, completed the formal proceedings for arrest at his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad which has been declared as sub-jail.

During the interrogation, the former president refused his involvement in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and insisted that  best security was provided to former prime minister.

The FIA on Friday will file a petition seeking the physical remand of the former military ruler in the Anti Terrorism Court, Rawalpindi.
