Festive White Chocolate Heart Cake Pops Recipe!

By Pepper Bento

Today I’ve made some cute festive cake pops, they would make fabulous last minute gifts wrapped in a little plastic with pretty ribbon or just as a treat to show a little love.

Festive White Chocolate Heart Cake Pops
Makes 24

Ingredients
75g unsalted butter
75g caster sugar
75g self raising flour
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 free range egg

For decoration
200g white chocolate
Edible festive coloured decorations
24 cake pop sticks

You will also need a heart shaped cake pop tray to bake.

Method

Preheat the oven to 160oc.

Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and creamy.

Little by little, add in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.

Add in the flour and stir lightly, until combined.

With a teaspoon, add the batter to one half of the heart shaped cake pop mold and secure.

Place on a baking tray and cook for 12 minutes, until any cake batter risen out of the cake pop mold holes are golden brown.

Push the excess cake on top aside and turn out each on to a cooling rack and leave to cool.

Carefully break off any excess cake left on the shapes (and nibble them all up while no-one is looking).

With a skewer, pierce the bottom center of each cake and carefully add in a cake pop stick.

Cut up the white chocolate and place in a ban marie.

Once the chocolate has melted, take off the heat and dip each cake pop into the chocolate, take the stick out briefly to dip it in some chocolate before placing it back into the hole in the cake.

Spin the cake pop to get rid of excess chocolate then add on decorations while the chocolate is still wet and place on baking paper.

Leave the chocolate to dry.

Display your cake pops on a piece of Styrofoam or in a cake pop stand and enjoy!
