Festive Events To Experience In Vincennes and Knox County, Indiana

As the summer starts to give way to fall you'll discover many wonderful activities to enjoy in the Vincennes and Knox County region of Indiana. In fact, this weekend welcomes the annual Bicknell Heritage Parade and Festival. The Labor Day weekend festivities in Bicknell will include the parade, Bicknell High School reunions, car show and softball tournament. Plus, the Bicknell Kiwanis Club will hosts a pancake breakfast and community picnic.
Gather your friends and family for a outing in Downtown Vincennes for the First Friday Art Walk. This is a great way to welcome in September with history and art that will fill the streets with incredible art experiences. Take a stroll downtown and stop by four eclectic galleries, each with unique pieces art to view.
This weekend Vincennes will host their annual Salute to the Veterans of WWII at the Indiana Military Museum. During the festivities there will be fabulous WWII military displays, and living history reenactors from throughout the region, encampments, tanks and artillery. There will be plenty of food and refreshments available, and there is Free admission for World War II Veterans.
   
Jimmy Osmond will be at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, VU Campus
on Sep. 8th. This vocalist kicks off the Alumni Community Series with "Moon River and Me," a tribute to his mentor and friend, Andy Williams. Jimmy, the youngest member of the Osmond family, performs some of the chart-topping hits that made him and his brothers famous.
On Sep. 9th at Green Activities Center on the VU Campus you can catch the Stage Door Canteen USO Show. Experience an authentic, WWII-Korean War variety show. Enjoy local entertainment including music by the Temple-Airs Big Band, skits and more music, patriotic painting by Rosalie Doughman, plus, a photo booth and raffle.
If your children enjoyed the recent #TotalSolarEclipse, then they will have fun at Astronomy Night on Sep. 30th at George Rogers Clark NHP in Vincennes. This will be the last event for the year in Junior Rangers Series. Participants can win prizes and earn patches, badges and t-shirts.
