Fentimans Ready Mixed Gin Drinks for World Gin Day

By Emma @glasgowfoodie

World Gin Day returns this Saturday for its NINTH year and loving all things gin I had to start early. Purely for research purposes of course!

So what is World Gin Day? World Gin Day is a global celebration of everything gin. Get some friends together, get some gin and enjoy. Enjoy the gin neat, with tonic or as a cocktail, just enjoy some gin and if you can convert a friend, even better!

Fentimans sent me a bundle of their tonics and a couple of their ready-mixed drinks in collaboration with Bloom Gin. The Rose Lemonade & Bloom Gin is perfect for a picnic. Ready to serve and with delicate rose floral tones to work with the Bloom gin. This would be an ideal introduction for those wary of the taste of tonic.

If you like the zing of tonic, then head straight to the ready to drink Bloom Gin & Tonic, A refreshing and balanced gin and tonic, in a beautiful bottle.

The gorgeously pretty Fentimans bottles got me hunting for some history and to find out all about Fentimans. So Fentimans Botanically Brewed Beverages was founded in 1905 in West Yorkshire by Thomas Fentiman. I'm a big fan of Yorkshire, I must've known there was something in the Fentimans history (lots of family holidays in Scarborough as a kid). Fentimans started life brewing Ginger Beer and serving the beer in hand made stone jars known as 'grey hens'. These stone jars were stamped with the image of Thomas' pet dog 'Fearless' after winning the 'Crufts' obedience class in 1933 and 1934. The rest, as they say, is history, the company grew and now produces over 20 different products and exports to 70 countries around the world. Except for Lemon Shandy, all Fentimans drinks are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and are Gluten Free.

So let us raise a glass to World Gin Day. I hope you will all be joining me.

Are you a fan of gin? How will you be celebrating World Gin Day?

Many thanks to Fentimans for enabling me to try their ready-mixed drinks. Fred doesn't like gin, but said the bottles looked pretty.
