Residents apologized to the reporter saying this wasn’t representative of their citizenry. Well, it is now with the European invasion.

From The Daily Mirror: This is the dramatic moment a female TV reporter was attacked during a live broadcast in the terror-blighted Molenbeek area of Brussells.

Italian journalist Giovanna Pancheri was reporting live on air in the now infamous district of Belgium’s capital city when a young hooded man suddenly grabbed her.

The shocking clip shows the woman back away in fear as the unidentified teenager appears to tries and snatch the camera. Determined to continue their news report, the media crew keep on filming. But as they move away from the attacker, another young male accosts the team in a bid to disrupt the broadcast.

Ms Pancheri said: “There was a group of three trying to intimidate us who had nothing better to do. We had already spoken to them explaining that we were filming a live news report and that I would be the only one on the screen. But while we were filming, one of them approached us, tried to swipe the camera and kicked the cameraman.”

The reporter added: “A group of gentleman who had helped us set up came over to apologize to us, saying that wasn’t Molenbeek.”

The attack comes after a spate of incidents involving disgruntled locals and journalists filming in the Brussels suburb, which has been linked to a rise in extremism in city.

Mayor of Molenbeek Françoise Schepmans said 32 people and arrested two following a number of incidents over the weekend.

Several high profile terrorists, including Paris attacks mastermind Salah Abdeslam, are said to have grown up in the area.

Following terror attacks at a Brussels airport and metro station last month, tensions have been raised between young people and journalists, who have been flocking to their neighbourhood in their droves.
