Felt Mail Playset

By Vixenmade @vixenMade
My kids have been bugging me to create some play mail so they can pretend to send mail to each other.  Finally, I found a container for the mail box and pulled out my felt and made them this.

Here's the container I used.  Straight from the dollar store.

I used a utility knife to cut out a mail slot.

Then hot glued on the felt surrounding it.

I also added felt along the underside of the lid just to reinforce the opening.

Like so.

I added felt around the container.

Then made a mail sign with blue and white felt.

I used my scraps of sturdy felt to trim around the lid and I was done.

They love having the handle to tote their mailbox around or use it as a 'mailbag'.

I couldn't stop there though.  They needed some felt envelopes.   Using gray felt, I cut out different sized rectangles and glued over the folded edge to make an envelope shape.

Then I used the adhesive velcro pieces for the flaps.

Perfect for little hands.

To create the addresses, I cut out squiggly lines out of felt and glued them to the fronts of the envelopes.

And I cut out small squares out of white felt for the stamps.

Using my fabric markers, I wrote out stamp prices on each one.

Then glued them onto the corners.

Done and done!

My daughter loves to write her own notes to send out for mail.

They love adding the mail to the slots.

Go have your own fun creating with felt.
