When walking into El Dorado & Maxillofacial Surgery, you wouldn’t even know by the warm colors, soft lighting, and fireplace that you’re in a dental office. This new office now treats 100 new patients per month and outproduces Dr. Jason Straw’s first location in Placerville, CA. How did this new practice get to be so sucessful?
A highly visible and heavily trafficked location in El Dorado Hills, CA served as an intriguing place for a new dental office – combined with the fact that there were no other oral surgeons in the area. Next to the business is a local movie theater where Dr. Straw runs ads before and after the movies, highlighting his state-of-the-art equipment and the beautiful, home-like ambiance of his new office.
Technology – and making sure people know about it
“We market the heck out of our new i-CAT 3D Cone Beam CT!” explains Dr. Straw. “We take a lot of time to show patients the technology we use and explain its benefits. When they actually see the digital images, they understand.” The operatories are state-of-the-art with ergonomic chairs and offer plenty of room to maximize both patient and staff comfort. They come fully equipped with Midmark, Boyd, Aribex DEXIS, Accutron and KaVo brands. The wall-mounted monitors in the consultation rooms allow for easy viewing of the i-CAT images.
The Ambiance
“People are amazed at how nice the office looks,” comments Dr. Straw. “Many remark that it feels like a really nice house until they pass into the operatory space, which is what I aimed for when the facility was designed.” Dr. Straw accomplished this by using soothing beige tones on the walls to contrast and showcase the chocolate brown cabinetry and crown moldings along the floor and ceiling. An eye-catching tray ceiling and granite countertops in the waiting area greet patients at check-in, and a large-screen TV entertains them while they wait.
