Chances are if you live anywhere in Eastern Ontario the name Brea Lawrenson is one that is familiar to you, especially if you listen to country radio stations like Country 101.1 or Country 93.5.  Brea has been a part of the music scene in and around the nations capital for much of her life and her popularity and fan base continues to grow rapidly.

Brea Lawrenson

Brea has always been a strong supporter of the men and women of the Canadian Forces and in 2009 Brea released a single and video that she dedicated to those men and women.  The song, If I’m Not Here Tomorrow, has been viewed over 16, 000 times on YouTube, was aired on the Armed Forces Radio Network as well as the Majic 100′s Top 20 Countdown television broadcast.  Brea has also performed the song on Parliament Hill for the Commissionaires.

In 2013 Brea released two singles to Country Music Radio, Honey and With You Whiskey.  The more recent of which has been picked up by radio stations across the country and is currently listed at 63 on the Canadian Country Charts.

More recently we held a poll on our website asking our readers which female country artists they’d like to see at Boots and Hearts this summer and Brea Lawrenson turned some heads when she not only took the lead but then grew the lead by a huge margin and held that lead.  To date over 1000 votes were cast of which Brea received over 260, the next closest artist being the Dixie Chicks with 88 votes.

Although Brea is a familiar face at festivals around eastern Ontario, she’s even graced the stage at Ottawa Bluesfest (ranked one of the top 10 most successful festivals by Rolling Stone Magazine),  her goal for 2014 is to get a shot to perform at Boots and Hearts this summer.  If you want to help Brea with her goal be sure to join the official Facebook page dedicated to getting Brea added to the lineup.  For more information about Brea or to contact her visit www.brealawrenson.com
