Sitting on the sign above the doorway, a bird torments the cats sitting below. Hopeful of an easy meal, they are waiting for it to descend, but the bird obviously has other ideas. One of the cats desperately tried to find a way to climb to the top from every angle, without success. Obviously the bird knew it was safe because again and again I watched it move on its perch until the cats looked up in anticipation, and then it would stop moving and just sit there until they looked away. I am sure that it knew what it was doing and I think it was enjoying the torment. The bird didn’t stop teasing the poor felines for the entire time I stood there with my camera. I finally had to leave. I wonder who tired of the bird-taunts-cat game first: the bird, or the cats?
