For some of us, nighttime hunger is a twelve o’clock deadline and the box of chocolate-frosted donuts that’s just sitting there in the lounge.  Not for Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell of Overcoats, however, whose new single “Nighttime Hunger” plays more like Are You Afraid of the Dark?  Premiering with BULLETT Magazine last week, “Nighttime Hunger” appears on the electro-folk-soul duo’s debut EP from last summer.

Nighttime hunger eats at me when I’m alone,” the girls sing harmoniously against a backdrop of electronic minimalism.  You know what they say, eat or be eaten.  Overcoats just finished a three-month overseas tour, which included a set at Dublin’s Longitude Festival alongside James Blake, Hozier and Ibeyi, having since packed NYC venues Pianos, Rockwood and Mercury Lounge, as well as NPR’s Mountain Stage in Charleston, WV; they play next at Fat Baby in New York City March 3rd at 10 p.m. before heading down to South by Southwest for the official showcase.
