Feature Friday: Griffin Oskar

Posted on the 17 February 2017 by Music Creates Us @musiccreatesus

Griffin Oskar is another successful LA transplant taking our Feature Friday stage this week. Originally from Portland, Oskar made the leap to the big city with his undeniable sound and a drive to come out big.

He made a name for himself on SoundCloud, or rather made a name for his pseudo-self, Småland, with the upload of his song “Hostage.” The track received hit after hit, and after a remix with Swedish producer Danrell (that also blew up), Oskar was quickly signed by Republic Records. And with good reason.

Now Oskar has released his full debut EP, Hostage. With only four songs, Oskar makes a statement of sound. There’s a definite likeness to Kings of Leon and Hozier that also adds to Oskar’s charm as an artist. The EP is sure to leave listeners wanting more, and one can only imagine how inspiring it has been for Oskar to get more of his art out there. Check him out on Spotify today.
