Favourite Skin Care Products So Far.

By Michiemichiee

This is a slightly different post today. I was planning to write this post tonight but I caved and started to type it on my trusty Samsung S3 phone during my lunch break today. As I furiously tried to distract myself from thinking with my cluttered brain and silently cursing my impromptu decision to work extra hours, it hit me with the thought that I could start writing this blog post during work so I can spend less time on it later. So here I am, thanks to the very handy Blogger app on my phone, which by the way is my new favorite app at the moment [right after Instagram ;)], writing this in the midst of my 10 hour work shift today. I love the Blogger app because whenever I am inspired to write even when I am out and about, I can open the app and start typing... easy peasy!!
Now enough with the introduction, this post will be about my favorite skin care product so far. I was initially going to name it "top skin care product of 2012", but given that its nearing the end of January, and I have been using the same stuff since last year anyway (because I am way too scared to change!), so I shall re-name this post as "Favourite skin care product SO FAR".
Okay, first item on the agenda is Cleanser.

I love love love the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleaner. I have used this for so long. It is one of those product that has always been in my bathroom. My whole family loves it and uses it. It gently cleanses the face leaving behind a nice clean feeling. Its so gentle that even the most sensitive skin can use it with minimal or no breakouts.

Another cleanser that I have been loving is the Ponds Cold Cream. This has been my lifesaver when my skin decided to misbehave and formed patches of dry scaly skin. It is especially good to use with normal to dry skin. I found this at my local Chemist Warehouse one fortunate day many many months ago for $3 each and had to buy it. I think I bought 3 bottles for me and mom to share. This Ponds Cold Cream is highly regarded around the world. It is a cleanser and makeup removal. And here is the best part, you don't even need water to use it which I found really intriguing. I cant really explain it but when you rub it into your face, the cream sort of dissolve while taking all the grub and yucky stuff off your face. You need to try it to experience the weird sensation you get from using it. I normally use it with a wash cloth, and I find myself rinsing my face with water afterwards. Just to be safe.

A face scrub that I always use is the Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub. I think I'm on my third bottle. I also vaguely remember using this scrub throughout my high school years. The only downside is that they recently changed the packaging to blue and white color. The formula is still the same but I like the old packaging way better.
The second item is Toner

The toner that I swear by is Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner. Best toner ever. Enough said.
Next item is Face Serum

I have used Rosehip Oil as a serum for more than a year now. It has reduced my sun spots, hyperpigmentation and acne scars tremendously. It leaves the skin smooth and glowing. It does take a while to work so you have to have patience. I use it only once a week. It does make the skin quite oily looking especially for combination/oily skin. But I found that mixing 2 drops of rosehip oil with a little bit of water can help minimise the oiliness. Also, don't put it all over the face, just areas of the face that need it.
Last but not least, let's talk about Moisturiser.

My absolute favorite moisturiser is the Neutrogene Oil - Free Moisturiser for Combination Skin. I can't remember how many times I have rebought the same bottle over and over again. It is so light and absorbs into the skin quickly, without leaving an oily layer on the skin that some moisturisers do. There is also a version for sensitive skin for those with sensitive skin.

Guess who got lucky today? ^^
