Fashion Week: Shoes & Accessories

By Jessicavenoy @lovelyjesscuh
Truth be told, I know close to nothing about the real fashion week. And I'm totally okay with that. The fashion week that I'm talking about in my title up there is referring to something that I came up with while I was taking a bath this weekend (TMI? Sorry, just keeping it real. I mean don't all great ideas happen in the bath/shower?).
Let me explain.
Lately I've felt like my wardrobe is very stale. I have a few key pieces that I love and will probably always love. But the majority of my clothes seem very ...college. I wear shorts, jeans, & tank tops like there is no tomorrow. But now that I'm out of college and planning to make my way into the professional work field, I really want to amp up my closet. I'm not talking stuffy pant suits or anything extreme. I just want to adult-ify my style a bit.
So this week, here on Lovely Little Things, is deemed as Fashion Week.
Each day I will choose a specific type of clothing and show you pieces that I plan on purchasing to start rebuilding my wardrobe.
Welcome to Shoes & Accessories day :)
I'll start with shoes.
I'm not much of a stiletto girl. I tend to go for a wedge or flat. Call me a wimp, but achy feet just aren't something that I look forward to at the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, I know that some outfits just call for a cute stiletto, and for those outfits I suck it up. But these are the shoes that I'm eyeing to add to my wardrobe:

I tend to go for neutral shoes, because I like to wear bright colored tops. The green wedges were even a stretch for me, but hey, I'm trying to branch out and redefine my style so why not. And I think it's pretty obvious that I'm into strappy wedges ;)
Next up...accessories!
I've always been a baby when it comes to jewelry. Especially statement jewelry. But I feel like a great statement necklace really pulls together an outfit and gives it a polished look. And I really want to invest in a really nice watch to help offset an arm party.

I have a bad habit of wearing the same jewelry over & over. I think it's a comfort thing.
I've learned that I'm extremely picky when it comes to these chunky necklaces. But I really adore all of the ones above. I might just have to buy them all!
I hope y'all will follow along with my fashion endeavors this week! Who knows...you might even find some inspiration for your own wardrobe.
Oh and before I forget...all of these images can be found on my "Dress Me Up" Pinterest board, which you can find here :)
