Never under estimate the south with their ability to combine party and fashion. The atmosphere was classy, upscale with a splash of fun and trendy. Surrounded by a pool, cabanas, trees, red carpet and great food, you could feel the excitement in the air. I got a chance to briefly speak with Tracy Dundas the founder of Fashion Week New Orleans. I told her that I absolutely loved what she was bringing to the city with this event. She said, “This is only the beginning, I just want to show that New Orleans has great fashion style.” It was truly great to be in an environment of high end fashion in your hometown! It was such a pleasure to run into not one but two of my high school classmates that were there as part of the Glam Squad! Lashanda and Nyla representing Magnolia Make-Up the New Orleans based company founded by Nyla. I had a truly fabulous time. Especially eating those delicious hor d'oeuvres ! The Boudin balls, Fried Butterfly Shrimp and Grilled Chicken with Mango sauce was very good. We also had Ciroc Strawberry Pepper Martinis!!…. What a great kick to a drink plus you could even see the black pepper in the cup once you arrived to the last drop. Fashion Week New Orleans is a must attend event, so if you missed it make sure to be there next year!
