Fashion Editorial Inspired by Nature: Green Attitude

By Marilovesgr33n @marilovesgr33n

Fashion editorial means many things together: clothes, style, beauty, photography and refined interiors. Fashion often communicates trough editorials, letting the images speak for themselves. We usually get a title and a number of pictures ranging from 5 to 10, but behind the final result there is a concept and a good dose of creativity.

Daniela Rettore is a fashion photographer who works on various magazines around the world. She is one of my facebook friends, a virtual kind of friend, that’s mean we have never met in person, but I know her admiring her work. I often look at her photos and I like the point of view of a woman takink pictures of other women mostly. She always puts something different and she is able to pull off a sweet and romantic femininity, mixed with fragility and dreamy attitude – that kind of attitude perhaps only a woman sees in another woman. This attitude, mixed with a certain je ne sais quoi, is the one she uses when she takes pictures of men – but that’s another story.

Green attitude is the title of her latest fashion editorial inspired by the nature that is beautiful and inspiring as a greeninspiration should be. Because creativity is a natural instinct toward the beauty. Freshness, lightness, harmony and sophisticated simplicity are the ingredients of this collection of images, suspended between fashion and nature. Starting from the location that seems a bit of a Wonderland, maybe not for Alice, but for those who love green and nature within the city like I do. CapoVerde at Via Leoncavallo 16 in Milan, is not exactly a garden and even not only a greenhouse, but it is both and much more. A place where you can feel comfortable in nature, where you can isolate yourself from the cahotic city life as in Tokyo when you enter a zen garden in the middle of the town or stop eating something organic and healthy. And it is here that the idea was born, when Daniela entered through a door to buy a little plant, and she saw a world of green, of course.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the editorial opens with Marras’s  total look – anyone who knows this designer’s love for flowers and plants, and has visited at least once the showroom in Milan, knows what I mean . The proposal to a Slovak magazine, Woman magazine, a very young model with a fresh and clean face; very little make-up and dresses typical of a good girl combined with an Eastern and chic attitude. There is Alberta Ferretti with her embroidery – feminine and romantic – perfect for a natural background and retro flavor furniture. Ermanno Scervino and his three-dimensional flowers on shirts laced as kimono. Roberto Cavalli with its transparency, Trussardi with his leather declined in a striped miniskirt 70s inspired and Ferragamo with the long pleated dress in total rouge.

These shots show us that beauty can speak loud when it whispers, making little noise. So it happens that we can turn off glitter, sequins and fireworks sometimes. Because the real #greenattitude is all about: serenity, harmony and balance. That’s all.
