TT-Underground Gallery is proud to present Fantasy a solo exhibition by Indie  184.

Fantasy rummages through landscape of being struck by platonic love, what can happen and what it may all mean. Revealing Indie’s current state of mind through her paintings. A smorgasbord of reflective works, in a number of moods: protective, determined, melancholic, desperate, idealistic, maternal, emotional, mystified, understanding and hopeful.

The exhibition will offer over a dozen new paintings and works on paper. The dreams and fantasy Indie has created in worlds that exist night and day. An ocean of filled with deep thoughts, characters and treasures. Escapisms painted through compositions of collages with raptures of color and textures fused with of her graffiti, imagery, and designs juxtaposed with messages. Indie expresses her energy through the use of mixed media work including spraypaint, acrylic, enamel, plaster, glitter, stencil and paper on canvas.

Since 2001, the Dominican-American, New York native artist has been painting her graffiti moniker in the streets of New York and internationally.  Indie’s graffiti was featured the record-breakingRockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto IV video game. She has collaborated with the most prolific female street artists of our generation such as Aiko, Swoon and Fafi.

Indie has participated in art exhibitions and auctions worldwide.  Most recently having a solo exhibition in February at MathGoth Gallery (Paris, FR) and the Urban Art Biennial, Völklingen Ironworks(Saarbrücken, DE). Her collaborative installation with Cope 2 for El Museo’s Biennal: The (S) Files at El Museo Del Barrio (New York, NY) received recognition extending the works for a second consecutive year. Indie was recently commissioned for MAC Cosmetics for their Summer 2013 accessories collection.

Fantasy commemorates Indie’s first solo exhibition in New York City. Join us for the opening reception on where the artist will be in attendance to celebrate her new works.
