The Liberator, Roj Blake's spaceship in BBC1's seminal seventies sci-fi, Blake's 7, is one of the iconic vehicles of science fiction. The model, which was built by set-designer Roger Murray-Leach, featured in all three series of the programme, which follows the adventures of a group of convicts and rebels and their struggle against the totalitarian Terran Federation.

The historic prop has recently resurfaced on eBay with a Buy It Now price of £33,000, currently residing in Southampton.

The description of the prop from the seller's eBay page is as follows:

"Time's running out to own a one-off piece of history. There is nothing else like this. It is the best prop of all & is the only one used in all 3 series of Blake's 7.

This is for the original Liberator as seen in the BBC TV series Blake's 7, not a copy.

It is solid in build with metal rods for added strength. The dome was re built as was one of the three pods, all done by Martin J Bower.

All paperwork comes with it to prove its history, including the auction it was sold at some time before I got it. Apparently there is also paperwork inside the model.

This is not perfect, but still pretty good for a 40-year-old model.

The ship measures 41 inches long x 22 inches wide as the original. 104 x 56cm."

Bidding will close on the Liberator prop on 16th June. If you're a Blake's 7 fan, prop collector or science fiction enthusiast with some cash to spare, visit the Liberator Studio Model eBay listing.
