Family Fun at in Silverwood and LaBelle Parks

By Homesmsp @HomesMSP

We got some help from our son and his two kids on Saturday with an Open House in Windsor Green in New Brighton. Afterwards we shared some time playing around Silverwood and Labelle Parks.

Silverwood is a large regional park in New Brighton just off Silver Lake Road, managed by the Three Rivers Park District. This beautiful park is fairly new and filled with pastoral charm. Easy walking trails guide you through the spacious grounds and lead you to and from the beautiful park pavilion.

It's a great place for long or short walks and has a bridge out to the island in the middle of Silver Lake. Ducks and geese are out in the water on this gorgeous day. The peaceful waters add to the peaceful landscape, a great place to visit with someone special or just sit and meditate.

However, though we enjoyed our time there, young children really want slides and horizontal bars to play on, usually found in a city park.

We found it! The nearby city of Columbia Heights has a beautiful small playground at the northern end of LaBelle Park. The kids jumped in with zeal and the next 45 minutes were actively enjoyed. See for yourselves!

Spring in Minnesota is wonderful! Get out and enjoy it!
