There is no better name for this band than Family and Friends - an Athens, Georgia-based band, formed by 7 friends under the premise of "Good people. Good music." Family and Friends' honest drive-a "blend of earnest folk rock and a communal spirit pouring a collective heart into something bigger than itself"-yields songs saturated with love and synergy. "Love and Other Drugs" epitomizes this sensation. The song takes off immediately as the percussion ( two drummers!) sets the energizing pace of the song. The guitar starts up with a happy little riff, and the viola playfully follows suit. If that weren't enough, the opening lyrics of the song are, "Say hello to the moon / Say hello to the sun / I'm in love with this feeling / This feeling of love." How can you not love how much joy these friends have? And when it converges in such a simply straightforward way, you can't help but dance your heart out yourself.
