Falling in Love with London Again

The best things, new and old.

Coming back to London is great for a lot of reasons. I love having the opportunity to revisit my favorite spots (like Brixton and Soho), while also exploring areas I couldn’t reach last time (like Shoreditch). The video below has a breakdown of 2013′s favorite moments so far, including my return to the O2 Academy; my first time at the Brick Lane Market; and my time in the London Eye.

People make the difference.

However, while London has plenty to offer in the form of entertainment and tourist attractions, I believe that my two best experiences of 2013 came from people I got to spend time with.

First, my interview with Paul Bridgewater of Line of Best Fit was incredible. He had a vast amount of insight for my project, and he was more than generous with his time. Our conversation covered everything from the importance of video sessions for Line of Best Fit to connecting with different types of public relations practitioners within the music industry. There wasn’t much we didn’t cover, and the conversation opened my eyes even more to how many opportunities there are within this field if you have even a little drive and creativity.

Then, I also had the opportunity to spend time with my cousin Jenette. I had visited her last year, but it was as a class trip to see her office. This time, Jenette and I caught up as cousins instead of as professionals, and it was a wonderful afternoon. Jenette and I talked about living in London, making career changes, and a wide range of other topics. It was easily one of my favorite days in London; it certainly helped that the sun was shining throughout the day.
