Fall Mum Wreath

By Vixenmade @vixenMade
I wasn't having any luck with finding my perfect fall wreath this year.   I found they were all so busy and a little crowded for my taste.  I wanted something simple, outdoorsy and rugged yet pretty.  I guess I'm a little too particular.
Since the stores provided no luck, what else is there to do but make your own, right? What a saver that was.  Not only did I get what I wanted, I also saved a bundle by using what I had on hand!   Here's what I made.

Remember that wreath form I bought at the thrift store here? It worked perfectly.  The twig and branch look was just what I needed.

Then I raided my fake flowers stash and found my stems of orange mums and a bunch of leaf branches.

After plucking off the flower tops and a few of the leaf pieces, I went to work.

Using a glue gun, I adhered the large mums to the one side of the wreath.

Kind of like a cluster.

Then with the leaf pieces, I kind of stuck them underneath the flowers sporadically.

Like so.

Once I was happy, I needed to find something to hang my wreath with.

Using a scrap of thick brown ribbon I wrapped it around my wreath.

And glued the ends together.

Perfect!

So festive and inviting!

And it warms up the entry area nicely too.
