Fall Favorites 2013 by jfeakins86 featuring orange home accessories

This fall, slip into a chunky cozy cardigan like this one from Reiss. It’s length makes it the perfect transitional piece to slip over summer dresses. I like to wear my oatmeal version over a beige and black striped mini dress and black Vince Camuto booties.

I don’t know what it is about elbow patches, but I can’t get enough. There’s something inherently nostalgic about it to me. I’m diggin’ this white and brown piece from J Crew, which would look great with a pair of skinny jeans and brown boots.

I just picked up this Ted Baker coat in beige from the Nordstrom half-yearly sale. Can we say $180 off!? Thank you! I’m hoping it will be the perfect coat to take me straight into the colder winter months.

Girls all over New York City are wearing this style of miltary jacket- some with gray cotton sleeves, and others with (faux) leather. I love the combination of textures and colors. This Style Co army green jacket is awesome!

Colored pants are here to stay. Put a twist on the trend by purchasing a waxed pair. The pearlessent fabric reflects a bit of light, slimming the leg and adding a touch of luxury. Recently, I picked up this pair of  Hudson skinny jeans; also from the Nordstrom sale.

Next on my shopping list is a (faux) leather skater skirt. The fit-and-flare silhouette is flattering and women of all shapes and sizes. This circle skirt from  Warehouse is affordable and adorable.

One of my favorite new fall purchases were these caged booties from Wink. Although they’ve been a little bit of a pain to break in, I cannot stop wearing them out on the town. Here’s a similar pair from  Pollini.

Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my chin. I am IN LOVE with these  VC Signature foldover ankle boots. I picture myself wearing them with an oversized cream sweater, dark skinny jeans, and my little burberry purse (similar here.) Sadly, I may have to wait until they go on sale.

Have you noticed my obsession with Vince camuto shoes? Besides absolutely loving their designs, they have amazing sales and are located just across the street from my apartment. I recently stopped by to grab a leapord print smoking flat at marked down over $100! Win-win-win! Another trend I’m oogling this year are these little equestrian-inspired paddock boots. I used to wear them ’round the farm all day, so I can attest to their comfort. Looks like the equestrian trend just keeps coming back! This affordabe paor is from  Forever 21.

Chunky gold jewelry- and  gold necklaces in particular- were a huge hit this summer, and it looks like they’re here to stay for a while. I love how the warm gold hues compliment autumn neutrals.

My current obsession is half-finger rings. I recently picked up some inexpensive pieces from Urban Outfitters and Aldo, but these silver rings from etsy.com are totes fab.

During the summer, I’ll all about the casualness of Ray Ban aviators. Come fall, it’s time to switch into something a little more grown-up. A little more Jackie O. My burgundy Burberry glasses are perfect for shielding the autumn sun, and where as black cam be a bit harsh, the color here compliments paling skin.

On a recent perose around Lucky brand, I came across this scarf. I’m thinking of going back for it. The ethnic print and earthy colors are to die for!

In the warm summer months, I typically keep things casual with nude or almost nude lip gloss. As soon as the scarves and boots come out, it’s time for a little color to brighten the face. I’m OB-SESSED with NARS satin and velvet matte lip pencils. Always a fan of Cruella- a deep dark red- I recently added a few newbies to my makeup bag: Yu (pictured left) a barbie pink with blue undertones, and Luxembourg- a hot reddish pink. I cannot go on about them enough– highly pigmented with tremendous staying power. The satin pencils go on feeling almost like a creamy lipstick, while the velvet matte is exactly that. Love them!

When the temperature and humidity drop, you must switch up your skin care regime. I’ve added in Neutrogena Naturals face moisturizer and my skin is loving it! It soaks it right up, leaving a velvetty dewey texture.

Another side-effect of the changing temperature is paling skin. Keep a little glow in your appearance with Jergen’s Gradual Tanning Lotion. It moisturizes as it builds a subtle, natural “tan.” You control how dark you want to go!

Quite the impusle buy, but totally worth it; I’m addicted to my  NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection Limited Edition One Night Stand blush palette. It comes with 4 almost-full-sized blushes (Orgasm, Deep Throat, Mistinguette, Goulue,) Laguna bronzer, and a subtle highlighting powder. Feeling the need to experiment with different colors and a highlighting powder, I felt this would be a fun (albeit expensive) purchase. I was right! I absolutely love it. Would make a great gift around the holidays for any beauty junkie!
