Alawathugoda Police arrested a person masquerading as a private detective with a forged identity card bearing the signature and official seal of the Inspector General of Police, mentioned the Ministry of Defence.
Police said that the 29-year-old man is a resident of Delgasgoda in Alawathugoda and is a trader by profession. Police found the forged Identity Card in his possession, after he was arrested over an assault on a person.
A Senior Police officer said that the Identity card appears to be false at the first glance.
Apart from that, this person also had an identity card prepared in the name of Private Detective Service. The police also mentioned that he has posed as a personal security guard. An extensive investigation will be conducted regarding the suspect after obtaining more information about him from the intelligence services.
