Faith Based Film ‘I Can Only Imagine’ Based On Bart Millard’s Childhood Picked Up By Lionsgate

The faith based film I Can Only Imagine has been picked up by Lionsgate. Starring  Dennis Quaid, Cloris Leachman, Trace Adkins, Broadway’s J. Michael Finley, and Priscilla Shirer, I can Only Imagine is expected to hit theaters March 16th, 2018.

I Can Only Imagine follows the true story of Bart Millard, the lead singer of the Christian band MercyMe, and how he wrote what is now the most played radio single in Christian music history.

Bart Millard  announced back in January that he was in the process of filming a movie based on his childhood and how it inspired the writing of MercyMe’s biggest hit.

“5 years ago I was approached about making a movie about my childhood and how it inspired the song “I Can Only Imagine,” the singer shared on Instagram.
